How To Become A Referee:
Go to www.usahockey.com
Click on the officials tab.
Click on "Register Online". New registration for the current year will begin on Aug. 1.
Choose "Ice Officials."
Follow instructions. You must be 18 years old to register online or have a parent/guardian register for you.
Within ~1 week you will receive a packet in the mail containing a rule book and other materials.
Attend a USA Hockey seminar that consists of both classroom and on-ice sessions.
Pass the open book rule exam online using information obtained at the seminar and the rule book obtained during registration.
Officials registering above level 1 must take and pass the closed book exam at the seminar.
Once everything is completed and all testing has been passed, a card and crest will be mailed to you.
